The Ardrossan Yatran Ukrainian Dance Association was founded in 1981 and has been operating as a non-profit, parent-run organization ever since. This dance club is located in the hamlet of Ardrossan, just east of Sherwood Park and Edmonton. Dancers ranging in age from 4 to adult are welcomed from all areas and all levels of dance experience.

The Association endeavours to preserve the "art" of Ukrainian folk dance and Ukrainian culture. The society strives to provide students with the opportunity to develop an appreciation for Ukrainian dance and attain the highest personal level of achievement possible. Their dancers are led by the highest level of instruction from their instructors Mr. Murray Steele, Miss Trinity Chopyk and Miss Annika Dobko.

Ardrossan Yatran's dance season runs from September to May, ending with their year-end finale that is held at Festival Place in Sherwood Park. The Ardrossan Yatran dancers attend several Ukrainian dance competitions/festivals throughout their dance season that are held within Alberta and Saskatchewan and have been awarded several awards and medals over the years.

Ardrossan Yatran has a strong belief of community and family. Every February their families come together to celebrate the love of Ukrainian dance and culture at their annual family dance, a fundraising zabava that has created wonderful memories over the last several years.

Throughout the year these dancers also visit several seniors homes within their community to provide entertainment to those residents. Ardrossan Yatran is well known within their community by participating annually at the Ardrossan Picnic and Parade with their float entry, performance on the main stage as well as serving their delicious perogies at their very own concession.

Ardrossan Yatran is very honoured and excited to perform at this year's UFest. This opportunity is one of many that keeps their Yatran "bonfire" burning.
