Celebrate everything Ukrainian at UFest 2019!
Western Canada's largest multi-day Ukrainian festival returns for its second year
Mark your calendars for the return of UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival! This free, family-friendly event will take over Borden Park May 24-25.
Friday, May 24 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
"It will be a vibrant and energizing couple of days," says UFest President Daria Luciw. "We look forward to welcoming everyone, Ukrainian or not, to UFest 2019. There will be something for everybody!"
For the toe-tappers — dance along to more than 35 live performing groups including Ukrainian bands, choirs, dancers and soloists. New for 2019: the Polka Pit.
For the foodies — get your fill of pyrohy in the Food Fair area! If you're ready to venture beyond our famous dumpling, check out the food tents and food trucks for some other traditional eats. Have a sweet tooth? Check out the Kava Kafe dessert selection.
For the shoppers — stroll through the Vendor Village where you will find handmade items such as vyshyvanky (embroidered tops), jewellery, houseware, etc.
For the crafters — take in one of our workshops and demonstrations where you can learn how to weave wheat and write pysanky (decorated eggs).
For the kids — stop by the Kozak Kids Zone (new to UFest 2019) for some fun activities!
For the ones who want to relax — sit back in the Korchma (Beer Gardens) and try a L'vivske.
For the night owl — the party continues with UFest After Dark zabavas (dances) both nights until 11 p.m.!
Did you know? The Edmonton region has one of the largest Ukrainian-Canadian populations in Canada. Today, more than 335,000 Albertans identify as Ukrainian. Come celebrate with us — and don't forget to wear your favourite vyshyvanka or blue and yellow!
