UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival is coming to town!
Newest addition to Festival City
You're invited to the largest celebration of Ukrainian spirit in Alberta: UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival. This free, family-friendly event takes place May 25-26 in Borden Park.
The Edmonton region has one of the largest Ukrainian-Canadian populations in Canada. Ukrainian culture has enriched the landscape of our province and our country since the first wave of Ukrainian immigration in the 1880s. Today, more than 335,000 Albertans identify as Ukrainian.
"Our primary goal is to share the Ukrainian culture with all Edmontonians, Albertans, and Canadians, so that we can continue to build lasting relationships that recognize the value of the diversity that Canada offers and from which all citizens benefit," said Daria Luciw, President of the Edmonton Ukrainian Festival Society.
UFest will be a celebration of Ukrainian culture, food, music, visual arts, crafts and dance. This two-day event will feature a main stage with ongoing musical and dance performances, beer garden, Ukrainian food vendors, workshops, merchandise vendors, and more!
Performances will include Ukrainian dancers, bands, and vocal choirs, including guests from Ukraine and outside or Edmonton.
Participating food vendors include select food trucks who will be putting their Ukrainian twist on regular food items. Don't miss out on perogy burgers or sloppy Ivans!
The festival is open to the public ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience the best of Ukrainian culture.
Want to show off your Ukrainian pride? Wear your favourite vyshyvanka or blue and yellow!
